[un] familiar [ities] @ Utopias of Collectivity 2025 catalogue:

In his contribution to for the 70th Art Colony Ečka, the artist continues the development of the long-term project [un]familiar[ities], which explores the fluid relationships between social, historical, and cultural structures in transit — spaces where systems of value collide and disintegrate, shifting into new, often uncertain states. The work is attuned to subtle yet formative processes that shape our sense of belonging, truth, and reality — from urban and geopolitical transformations to ethical shifts that operate beneath the threshold of visibility.

During transit, exposure to security scanners left a subtle trace on part of the film material — a red saturation appearing on certain frames — which enters into dialogue with the visual codes of ongoing protests. In the convergence of circumstance and context, the work opens space for a layered reading of the tensions between the individual and the collective, control and resistance, as well as the vulnerability of bodies and images within contemporary systems of surveillance and communication.
