Sound Unsound II: Close your eyes and open them again—anew

Alen Aligrudic & Emeka Ogboh

This installation is part of the exhibition sequence Sound Unsound, where five artists and artist groups explore the fragility of perception and the construction of reality. Building on Emil Rønn Andersen’s preceding contribution, the works examine the shifting boundary between shared reality and illusion.

Emeka Ogboh’s PalmGroove weaves soundscapes from Lagos into an ambient electronic composition, combining field recordings with minimalist textures. Urban rhythms gradually dissolve into atmospheric abstraction, placing the listener in a space between recognition and uncertainty.

In dialogue, Alen Aligrudic constructs layered visual environments where objects and images shift between presence and representation. A fire-worn sphere and stereoscopic images oscillate between materiality and illusion, assembling fragmented moments of expression.

Together, sound and image intertwine, dissolving the boundaries between the visible and the audible. What is heard becomes almost tangible, while what is seen vibrates within the space of sound.
